About IPAO
IPAO is a non-profit Christian missionary organization. We are the missions ministry of Pentecostal Alpha and Omega. We aim to bring the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to Latinos in the United States, and all of Latin America, Africa, Europe, Asia and even the ends of the earth.
God has also allowed us to work on the continent of Africa in the following countries, Senegal, Chad, and Cameroon. In Senegal we are working with two works. Cameroon under the direction of Pastor Jules Tabue Kangda; we have 7 churches planted and 1 growing. In the Republic of Chad a work is being planted.
In addition, God has begun to open doors in India under the vision of Pastor Jose Contreras, and God has allowed us to ally ourselves with 4 new works in this country where our council is growing every day.
Our organization has a network of 37 churches in the US and 86 works outside the US. One of our wishes is to expand God’s work throughout the world. Our mission is to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to the nations, as established by the word of God.
History of IPAO
The IPAO (Alpha and Omega Pentecostal Churches) Missions of the Alpha and Omega Pentecostal Council in Washington DC was born in 1995. The love of missions began with the missionary passion and vision of going out into the world to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to those not reached. In 1995 the yearning grew in the heart of Brother Abraham Valdez, pastor of the Pentecostal Church Alpha and Omega, and of a sister member of his church. In 1995 Sister Beatriz Ferreira of the Alfa y Omega church, returned from Argentina where she had been injected with a missionary spirit, which shepherd Valdez participated in. Then the Alfa & Omega church began to intercede and monitor the ministry and workers for the field.
In this way Pastor Valdez made his first missionary trip to Mexico and several countries in Central America. On the first missionary trip, the Valdez grass was accompanied by Pastor Israel Lopez of El Calvario church. On this trip both pastors founded the first church of the Council outside the USA. in Santa Rita, Honduras; they established Brother Rene Gutiérrez as pastor. In this way the first land was purchased and the first church of the council was built in Honduras.
In 1996, Pastor Valdez began raising funds for missions at La Biblia church and El Calvario church. He preached and promoted offerings for the construction of the temple in Santa Rita, Honduras.
In this meeting the council accepted to work for the missions and was established as an official ministry. Pastor Kenia López was present at this meeting, who suggested that the name of the ministry be IPAO Missions (Missions of the Pentecostal Churches Alpha and Omega).
The first mission directive was established in 1997, and was integrated by the pastors; Israel Lopez, as representative to the council, Abraham Valdez as director, Milton Cortez as secretary, Luis Vargas as treasurer. During this same year, Sister Marta Flores, made an evangelistic trip to Nicaragua where she met the pastor Marlene Gimenez, who joined the council began to work the field of Nicaragua. Sister Flores, after seeing the need that the workers had in Nicaragua, contacted Pastor Carlos Santos, of the Smyrna Church, who joined the missionary work with the purpose of helping the missionary work of Nicaragua. Interestingly, Pastor Estanislao Mercedes of the New Jerusalem church, began to work with a church in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
For 1998 the new missionary board was formed, composed of Pastor Lopez, who held the position of director and representative to the council, Brother Cortez as president, Brother Vargas as secretary, Brother Miguel Arauz as treasurer and as collaborators the brothers José Granados and Ernesto Alemán.
In the year 2000, there was only change of president, brother Mario Taracena replacing Brother Milton Cortez. During 2001 Pastor Ramón Velásquez was appointed director and worked with Brother Taracena until 2001.
Currently, Pastor Velásquez continues as director of IPAO and as president, Enoch Parada, who was appointed to the post in 2007.
In the last seven years Pastor Velásquez has dedicated himself to promoting missions and his work consisted of missionary mobilization, the organization of missionary work throughout our council here in the United States. and in other countries.
IPAO is currently working in North America, Mexico, Central America, South America, the Dominican Republic, and even the African continent in the nations of Senegal, Chad, and Cameroon and with open doors in INDIA. We are aware that the work is not yet finished but that we are still beginning to do the work that our Lord Jesus Christ commanded us to do.
Our desire is to remain faithful to the Biblical principles on which this missionary ministry is founded. We are obligated to obey and commit ourselves to fulfill the commission of Jesus Christ written in Matthew 28:19: Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: teaching them to keep all the things that I have commanded you; and behold, I am with you every day, until the end of the world. Amen.
